It was more than just a musical evening with an assembly of 1097 ‘dragons’. It was a record breaking as well!!
The audience got a preview of what was to come as the orchestra played the national anthem and the state song with the traditional Chinese musical instruments.
With so many musicians, the record-setting events also saw a grand gathering of instruments, which included
Chinese plucked string instruments like the gu-zheng,
Bowed string instruments like the erhu, gaohu, and zhonghu,
Mouth-blown reed instruments like the suona and sheng,
Chinese lutes like the pipa, liuqin, daruan and zhongruan,
Percussion instruments like the daji, qiaoji,
Chinese hammereddulcimer, yangqin,
Chinese transverse flute, dizi,
Double bass, cellos, and harp.
